By any measure, inadequate state funding in Colorado for PK-12 education has forced school districts across the state to grapple with many very difficult decisions for the coming year. Clear Creek is no different. In a recent presentation Cary Kennedy, Colorado State Treasurer, reported that the average per pupil amount that Colorado provides for educating students in grades K-12 is $1300 below the national average. For the Clear Creek School District, that results in $1,134,900 that would have been received if the education of Colorado children were funded at the national average---and the district would be in a very different financial situation.
