From the Superintendent

During March and April, the Clear Creek School District will make two significant decisions that will help our organization support and drive improved academic performance and create a learning environment that fosters high expectations and character development.   The first decision is a strategic shift of resources to a new structure and the second is modifying our calendar to improve the quality of our District curriculum and professional development.

As we enter our budget process for the 2014-2105 school year, we are incorporating a strategic organization modification into our long-term financing decisions that will help us develop 5 critical capabilities identified in our Comprehensive Appraisal for District Improvement (see CCSD CADI Report).   These capabilities are:  high-quality teacher induction, teacher coaching, curriculum alignment and improvement, comprehensive formative and summative assessments and a multi-tiered intervention.  We also add a highly effective gifted and talented capability to those 5 for a total of 6 critical capabilities.  We have proposed 4 different plans and structural changes to develop these capabilities.  Each of these plans lays out a 3-year transition towards a more effective structure that will provide the foundation for an outstanding education system in CCSD.  In March or April, we will adopt one of these plans (see 6 Critical Capabilities Plans).  We welcome your inputs to these plans by using the Comments and Suggestions Website.

Our proposed calendar is located at CCSD 2014-2015 Proposed Calendar.  This calendar keeps the same basic school year and student contact time as the 2013-2014 calendar but groups District professional development days together in twos every other month.  This allows our teachers and administrators to collaborate and work more effectively by giving them more consecutive time together on a regular basis.  The CCSD 2014-2015 Proposed Calendarwebsite has a comments section located on the left side of the screen for your input.

We ask that you take your time to familiarize yourself with these plans and calendar.  We also ask that you actively participate in our ongoing discussions on these issues as we near our decision points.  As always, we believe we develop the best solutions when we work together as a team of students, parents, teachers, staff and community: your inputs will help us take our District from Good to Gold.
